ACCELERATED ACADEMIC BIOLOGY

This introductory course in biology is designed to give the students an better understanding and appreciation of the world around them.

The course follows the PA Department of Education standards of learning and will prepare the students to successfully complete the Keystone Exam - Biology in the spring of the academic year.

The course is taught using a combination of techniques and resources and include a lab two days per week. There will be dissections at the end of the school year.

Understanding Cancer Activities & Videos

The following youtube videos give a brief overview of cancer and how it can be treated.

          Cancer: Unregulated Cell Growth

          How Do Cancer Cells Behave

While studying mitosis we took some time to learn about cancer. In doing so, the students watched some background videos provided by the NIH. Use the links below to complete the "Understanding Cancer" packet.

KEYSTONE REVIEW

We will be using the Council Rock High School comprehensive review packets to help the students review for the Biology Keyston Exam. These packets include a written summary of the 9 subjects areas tested on the exam, video review, and a quick worksheet highlighting the key material. Please keep in mind a 20-30 minute review will not replace the time spent in class. This is meant to refresh the students on their content knowledge. The students will be given the packets in class and expected to complete the packets at home as an assigment with due determined by the teacher. Please use the links below to find the videos.
